# Swap

### What is Swap?

Swap is a protocol built and maintained by Vestige that offers trustless on-chain swapping spanning multiple routes on the Algorand blockchain. The purpose of Swap is to allow users the ability to trade their Algo to an Algorand Standard Asset (ASA) or back again with a simple yet secure transaction that can interact with multiple different sources. &#x20;

You can access **Swap** at the following url: <https://vestige.fi/swap> \
Note: Please refer to the [Tiers](/vest-token/tiers) page for details about what benefits $Vest holders receive.

**Cost Savings and Efficiency**

Swap provides the best possible trading rate compared to other similar aggregators. By leveraging multiple Liquidity Pools (LPs) we are able to route your trade to many different sources at the same time while providing you a swap bonus amount for the difference earned. This means you no longer need to open several different sites to compare their current price and slippage amounts to determine the most efficient possible trade. We offer this to all users for no additional fees. The user simply pays for the swap and the standard Algorand transaction fees and you are all set!

#### Secure and Flexible Architecture

With our architecture, we are able to indicate to the users when they are completing potentially not secure transactions (vulnerable to front-running and partial execution). To address these concerns, we have enabled the ability for users to modify several components of the swap to meet their desired swap criteria:

* [Swap Slippage Tolerance ](/how-to-guides/complete-a-swap/adjust-swap-slippage)
* [Modify Swap Routes](/how-to-guides/complete-a-swap/modify-swap-routes)
* [View the Full Swap Details](/how-to-guides/complete-a-swap#step-3)

#### Performance

Our swap is coupled with our real-time charting service that allows each user the ability to track their favorite Algorand Standard Assets (ASAs). By combining these two elements into a single page, the user can make trades using the best most up to date information with the rates being refreshed every .5 seconds! As soon as the price hits your target, you can quickly submit the transaction and sign it with our [Multiple Transaction](/how-to-guides/complete-a-swap#step-4) approval. Once the swap has completed, your transaction will update in real-time on the transaction feed for that specific ASA as well as appear in your portfolio tracker. Our goal is to provide users with a one stop access point to view, transact and monitor their performance all in a single secure location.

#### Benefits

For any users utilizing our swap, we offer [**Combo gain**](/how-to-guides/complete-a-swap/combo-gain) incentives based on the amount of [**VEST**](https://vestige.fi/asset/700965019) that you hold. These rewards start with users holding no vest at all and go up to rewarding the user the full bonus amount that the swap earns when using the multi-route system. Not only are we making the process for you easier, but we reward you for taking the easy road!

# Vault

**What is Vault?** Vault is a protocol built by Vestige that allows the creation of time-locked escrow accounts on the Algorand blockchain. The main purpose of the protocol is to allow project managers to set up these vaults, that are verifiable on-chain, as evidence that a percentage of their tokens or liquidity is being held on an escrow account and thus:&#x20;

* **Can not be “dumped” -** Meaning market-sold without notice on unsuspecting users or the liquidity, This brings an extra layer of security, trust and transparency into the Algorand DeFi space, since all this information is verifiable on chain and can be viewed by anyone.

***OR***&#x20;

* **Can not be “rugged” -** Meaning removed without notice. With this, users can have more trust by verifying the details of the locked tokens at any time.

The Vault can also work as a token vesting mechanism, by which teams can give core-contributors agreed upon tokens to be released over a period of time and quantity to avoid potential price crashes, and panic from these.

## **How it Works**&#x20;

The Vault contains 3 basic stages (Creation, Waiting and Claim).  These stages allow for the user to set the type of vault, expiration date(s) and who will be able to claim once the contract has completed.  Inside of these stages, the vault works through two smart contracts working in tandem. One we internally refer to as the “**Manager**” contract and the other as the “**Vault**” contract.&#x20;

* The **Manager** contract is in charge of setting up the fee structure as well as keeping track of all the launched contracts in an easily queryable format, so that any user can verify what vaults are live.
* The **Vault** contract is in charge of executing the logic of the smart contract, that is keeping the funds on the escrow account and only releasing them when certain conditions are met.&#x20;

### **Creation Stage**

In this stage the user sets up the vault they want to deploy. The user has a choice of four different types of vaults:&#x20;

<div><figure><img src="/files/67ppL4UtpR2voYHrAs8Z" alt=""><figcaption><p>Time Capsule</p></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="/files/1afhNmGn1hmRpfGjaRdk" alt=""><figcaption><p>Interval</p></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="/files/0KLkZh1usuGmuAF1PgQP" alt=""><figcaption><p>Halving</p></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="/files/ihiqVwhOsUlbH8Gd3iya" alt=""><figcaption><p>Burn</p></figcaption></figure></div>

* **Time Capsule:** The vault will release the full amount of tokens once the specified period has passed.&#x20;
* **Interval**: This vault will unlock tokens in evenly spaced intervals based on the interval frequency and expiration.
* **Halving:** The vault will release half of the tokens held every time-step, the number of time-steps are set at the start by the vault deployer, with the final time-step releasing the same amount of tokens as the second-to-final.
* **Burn:** The vault will never release any tokens resulting in the tokens no longer being useable.

### Waiting Stage

In this stage, the vault locks the tokens based on the vault type and expiration date. You can access the vault directly to see when your claim option will be available which will be indicated by the countdown timer. Users can see or share a link to the vault, but there are no other actions available at this stage.

<figure><img src="/files/2EmSuqYM0Mgmihd20xEg" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### Claiming Stage

&#x20;In this stage the vault returns all of the tokens it has left to the deployer or the assigned recipient.  The user can then claim the tokens directly by initiating the signing process via the **Claim** button. &#x20;

Once "Claimed" the user will see an **All Claimed** button indicating the process is complete.

Note: To avoid any unexpected behaviour users should **NOT** airdrop tokens into vaults but instead launch new ones. Airdroping could result in miss-reported data or loss of tokens.

# Launchpad

**What is Launchpad?** Launchpad is a protocol built by Vestige that allows the creation of IDOs (Initial DAO Offerings) in a decentralised manner on the Algorand blockchain. The main purpose of the protocol is to allow DAO managers to raise capital in the form of ALGOs in exchange for tokens, in a decentralised on-chain manner and without going through intermediares.

## How it Works

The Launchpad protocol consists of two smart contracts that work in tandem. One we internally refer to as the “Manager” contract and the other as the “Launchpad” contract.

* The **Manager** contract is in charge of setting up the fee structure as well as keeping track of all the launched Launchpad contracts in an easily query-able format, so that any user can verify active launches or previous ones.
* The **Launchpad** contract is the instance of a Launchpad and it can have four possible stages:
  * Creation
  * Funding Stage
  * End Funding Stage
  * Claiming Stage

## Creation Stage

In this stage the “**Token Offerer**” sets up the parameters for the Launchpad they wish to deploy. The **Token Offerer** can set the token they wish to offer, the amount they wish to offer, the minimum amount of **ALGO** they wish to receive, the end date of their offer and the maximum amount of **ALGO** they wish to receive. As well as whether they want to pay the launch fee in **ALGOs** or in **VEST**.

\
The **Token Offerer** then pays the offered tokens, a percentage fee into the contract (<mark style="color:red;">THIS FEE WILL BE REIMBURSED IF FUNDING ISN’T SECURED</mark>) and a lump fee in either **VEST** or **ALGO** (<mark style="color:red;">THIS FEE</mark> <mark style="color:red;"></mark><mark style="color:red;">**WILL NOT**</mark> <mark style="color:red;"></mark><mark style="color:red;">BE REIMBURSED</mark>).

*\*We recommend the Token Offerer launch a few Launchpads in the TestNet to familiarize themselves with the process.*

## Funding Stage

In the funding stage the **Token Offerer** can:

* **Cancel the Order**: This action can ONLY be taken if the minimum amount of **ALGO** has **NOT** been raised and the time deadline has **NOT** been reached yet. If this action is taken then we enter the Claiming Stage (see below)

In the funding stage individual **Users** (ie, anyone) can:

* **Place an offer:** By taking this action, users commit a certain amount of **ALGOs** to receive the token offered. A user **CAN’T OFFER** more than what is set as the maximum amount the Token Offerer wants to receive. So for example, if the Token Offerer wishes to receive a maximum of 100 **ALGOs** and they have already raised 80 **ALGOs** an individual user won’t be able to contribute more than 20 **ALGOs**.

  *\*Due to the nature of blockchains, we always recommend individual users to commit **AT LEAST 1 ALGO** to the fund raising to avoid any potential “truncation” (see **FAQ** below).*
* **End the funding round:** By taking this action the contract moves on to its next stage (Claiming Fase). This action can **ONLY** be taken **IF** the time deadline or the maximum funding amount have been reached.

## Claiming Stage

The **claiming stage** has two potential outcomes:

* **Funding Secured**: This outcome is achieved if the raised amount is larger or equal to the minimum amount sought after by the Token Offerer and the End Round action has been triggered. If reached:
  * **Users** can proceed to claim the percentage amount of tokens they are entitled to based on their contribution
  * The **Token Offerer** can proceed to claim the amount of **ALGO** they raised from the token offering
  * The **Protocol** can claim the fees in the form of the token offered and **VEST** or **ALGO**
* **Funding NOT Secured**: This outcome is achieved if the raised amount is **LESS THAN** the minimum amount sought after by the **Token Offerer** and the **End Round** action has been triggered. If reached:
  * Users can proceed to claim back the **ALGOs** they contributed to the fundraise
  * The **Token Offerer** can proceed to claim the tokens offered plus the fee.
  * The **Protocol** can claim the fees in **VEST** or **ALGO**

After the claiming phase is reached if all tokens actions have been taken and all tokens have been claimed the application will proceed to “end” and will be “deleted” from the chain.

\
**FAQ**
-------

* **What do you mean by “truncation”?**

The way the amount of tokens a user is entitled to after a funding round is succesful is by doing a “wide-ratio” calculation. This means that when dealing with Atomic Units (so for example, in the case of **ALGO** dealing with .000001 **ALGO**) there is a small chance that a users contribution is “too small” to “receive” any tokens. In this case the users’ contribution is essentially lost. We limit this on our UI by making sure minimum contributions are set to 1000000 micro-**ALGO** (ie 1 **ALGO**) but as a decentralised protocol, anyone can interact with it and can thus contribute as much as they want through other methods (either employing an SDK or interacting through the ABI). This is not something the average user should worry about, but it is something to keep in mind.

To assure a minimum amount of tokens received individual users should contribute at the max amount raised “price”, this can easily be calculated by grabbing the amount of tokens offered and dividing it by the max amount sought after. This should give users a maximum possible unit price.

* **Is it legal to launch or participate in an IDO?**

It is beyond the scope of the team and project to determine whether individual users can participate or interact with the protocol. As a permissionless and decentralised system we have no control as to who can or can’t participate, and it is up to the user to verify whether their local jurisdiction allows them to. Please refer to our Terms and Conditions.

* **Are the projects launched here associated with or vetted by Vestige?**

No! Not only are the projects launched through this service **NOT** associated with Vestige, they’re also not vetted by us <mark style="color:red;">**AND MAY NOT EVEN BE RELATED TO THE UNDERLYING TOKEN**</mark>. Launchpad is a decentralised and permisionless protocol, due to its design the Vestige team has no control over who interacts with it. The only aspect we can control is the fee oracle in the manager contract, other than that what we provide is a simply UI to interact with the contracts on the blockchain.

* **How can I be sure that the project launched isn’t malicious or a “rug”?**

You can’t. You should always do your own research, there is no guarantees whatsoever that the advertised project will deliver on its stated roadmap, nor are there any guarantees that the token offered has any intrinsic value or utility, there isn’t even a guarantee that the **Token Offerer** is associated whatsoever with the project behind the token. It is up to individual users to do their own research and reach their own conclusions.<br>

<figure><img src="/files/AtQClmzoWOuEPBdFDh7e" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

# Combo Gain

When a user completes a swap, the transaction combo gain is based on the amount of [Vest #700965019](https://vestige.fi/asset/700965019) the user holds.

The bonuses gained are based on the following tiers:

* No Tier: (0 Vest):  \~20% gain
* Tier 0 (1 Vest): \~25% gain
* Tier 1 (10 Vest): \~40% gain
* Tier 2 (100 Vest): \~66% gain
* Tier 2 (5,000 Vest): \~82% gain
* Tier 2 (25,000 Vest) \~93% gain
* Tier 3 (75,000 Vest): 100% gain

{% hint style="info" %}
Note: For a swap that goes to a single route, no bonuses will be shared due to no gains being generated.
{% endhint %}

**Formula for Combo Gain Percentage**

```mathml
25% + log10(amount) * 15.3845% in [1,75000]
```

**Gain**: When the swap occurs, the gain amount is the amount the aggregator saves the user by combining the swap across multiple routes. Based on your VEST holding tier you will receive more of the gained amount up to 100%.

***If you are located in the EU or UK, this section applies to you.***\
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK GDPR require us to explain the valid legal bases we rely on in order to process your personal information. As such, we may rely on the following legal bases to process your personal information:

* If it is reasonable to expect collection and use with consent would compromise the availability or the accuracy of the information and the collection is reasonable for purposes related to investigating a breach of an agreement or a contravention of the laws of Canada or a province
* If disclosure is required to comply with a subpoena, warrant, court order, or rules of the court relating to the production of records
* If it was produced by an individual in the course of their employment, business, or profession and the collection is consistent with the purposes for which the information was produced
* If the collection is solely for journalistic, artistic, or literary purposes
* If the information is publicly available and is specified by the regulations
